Beef Bourguignon-Eating for your Cycle

That classic, cozy and easy Beef Bourguignon. An easy and flavorful recipe to eat during your menstruation. It's good at any point, but in my opinion this one should be on a monthly rotation. It's that good.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 lb chuck roast
  • 3 medium onions
  • 1 tablespoon of Tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons of flour optional or use GF flour if needed
  • 1 cup of red wine-I use what I have laying round but use a wine you’d actually drink.
  • 4 medium carrots
  • 1 cup of button mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons of beef bullion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Fresh herbs-I got the poultry herb pack
  • Parsley for garnish
  • 4 c Water

Equipment

  • dutch oven
  • Knife

Method
 

  1. Cut chuck roast into 1 inch square cubes and pat dry. Add salt and pepper.
  2. Preheat oven to 250F
  3. Brown the chuck roast in a dutch oven on the stove top
  4. Remove beef from pan in oil.
  5. Sauté onions, carrots, and garlic until onions are lightly browned
  6. add flour to veg and saute for 2mins.
  7. Add beef, beef broth, wine, tomato paste, salt and pepper, and fresh herbs.
  8. Bring this to a simmer and put a tight fitting lid on. Place is the oven for 2 hours.
  9. While the cooks, sauté mushrooms in butter
  10. After meat and veg cook for 2 hours add mushrooms.
  11. Cook for 15 more mins.
